About the opportunity



The YARD PERSON at Lawson Salesprepares equipment, equipment attachments and accessories for delivery to sales staff, customers or service shop(s). Must be skilled in operating Agricultural and heavy equipment to load and unload units from equipment hauling trailers and around the property as necessary for safe transportation.



Responsibilities:

Load and unload equipment for customers and vendor shipments. Secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary. Oversee the cleaning and servicing of vehicles and equipment. Assist with minor repairs and the painting of equipment. Maintain a clean and professional appearance. Power wash equipment before and after service. Receive new orders and equipment and ensure it is received into inventory. Assist in equipment setup as per customer order, such as attachments, decals and accessories. Keep the workstation clean and stocked with service tags and fuel. Works independently of supervision on assigned tasks. Moves between projects as scheduling requires. Maintains organized equipment inventory staging areas. Maintain, create and file Bills of Lading for all shipments received and leaving. Load and secure parts, equipment and/or accessories for delivery. Unload equipment and accessories. Pick up / Deliver and Transport equipment to its destination. Ability to operate a Pilot vehicle. Assist with other facility operation duties as needed. Know and follow all Company and customer safety rules, including maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly work area, and fully participating in Company accident prevention and safety improvement activities. Must have the physical ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including protective glasses, protective gloves, and protective clothing and footwear as required by the job. Maintain a clean, professional personal appearance at all times, meeting all Company standards for professionalism. Maintain a clean, safe working environment.


Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience preferred (equipment, automotive, industrial, etc.) Demonstrate proficiency in loading/unloading equipment & properly securing loads for transport. Understands and remembers all written and verbal instructions. Carries out instructions accurately. Works independently of supervision on assigned tasks. Moves between projects as scheduling requires. Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing. Experience using computers and Microsoft applications. Successful completion of Driver log training. Must have a clear driver's abstract. There is no public transit to this location; the ideal candidate must have a reliable vehicle.


Physical demands:

Proper lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted to waist level. Must have a Driver's License Class 3, with Air Brake Endorsement. Sporadic bending at the waist 10 to 90 degrees. Ability to kneel and reach, working in these positions: crouched, kneeling, bent at the waist, etc. Forward reach of up to 16-20 inches. Full range of motion for looking ahead to each side and the rear when operating a vehicle.
