Home Hardware is Hiring a full time Yard Leader/Manager


At Home Hardware, Canada's largest independent hardware and building supplies retailer, we are dedicated to supporting our customers with exceptional service and quality products. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Yard/Warehouse Leader to manage our lumber yard operations.


Job Summary: In this crucial role, you will assist customers with selecting and loading materials, maintain a clean and organized lumber yard, and facilitate various yard operations, including shipping, receiving, and inventory management. You will ensure that all activities are conducted safely and professionally, reflecting our commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

Uphold all safety standards in compliance with provincial and federal regulations, and ensure a safe working environment. Manage and maintain the lumber yard, including product receiving, unloading trucks, and yard cleanliness. Provide professional service to all customers and maintain positive interactions. Lead by example in safety, customer service, and effective merchandising. Adapt to changing customer needs and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability. Supervise and mentor yard staff, including scheduling, performance reviews, and conflict resolution. Assist in the hiring process and employee training to uphold our standards of service. Oversee the order picking process and maintain an efficient warehouse layout.

Skills & Qualifications:

Strong customer service orientation with a friendly and helpful attitude. Effective communication skills, capable of engaging with customers, management, and team members. Ability to perform physical tasks associated with this role. Quick learner, self-motivated, and able to work cooperatively in a team environment. Skilled in rational decision-making, problem resolution, and creative thinking.
