Summary:
This hourly role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of assigned process and packaging equipment within specified operating conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include but are not limited to the following (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)
Support and participate actively in all site-level HSE initiatives.
Understand and follow Company safety policies, site procedures, and relevant Alberta OHS legislation and execute safe work procedures and standard operating procedures properly.
Develop situational awareness, practice risk mitigation, complete FLHAs, JHAs, etc., report all incidents promptly, and ensure thorough and accurate documentation of worksite inspections and compliance activities.
Receive raw material inventory, monitor process equipment and system in assigned areas, and conduct in-process inspection and finished goods' sampling and testing as required.
Load/unload materials onto/from trucks, verify the quality of inbound materials, ensure the security of outbound loads, and stage materials appropriately for safe and timely transfers.
Perform general yard cleanup and seasonal yard maintenance and support other departments and functions as required.
Report any variances affecting quality (damages or other deficiencies) to the process shift supervisor or designate and support troubleshooting efforts to implement corrective and preventive actions.
Monitor necessary raw material inventory and support the process shift supervisor to fulfill business demands and ensure that KPIs are achieved safely.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation including equipment inspection checklists, process records, etc., and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manufacturing targets.
Maintain a clean work area and report issues promptly for resolution.
Be able to support and cover another shift and work overtime and weekends if required.
Key Qualifications

Three years' experience operating powered mobile equipment (wheel loader, skid steer, forklift, and excavator).
Three years' experience in manufacturing, waste management, or environmental services is preferred. Experience operating any process machinery is an asset.
Experience supporting HSE initiatives and/or membership in OHS committees are assets.
Have mechanical aptitude, be able to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, and collaborate with maintenance personnel when applicable.
Capable of lifting heavy items and performing physical tasks as required.
Able to operate powered mobile equipment and follow necessary safe work procedures.
Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to carry/handle or feel, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for appropriate inspections. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs multiple times in a shift. Seasonal exposure to weather elements may include, but not limited to, extreme temperature, wetness, and humidity.
