South Country Co-op is hiring a Yard Attendant at our Lethbridge Bulk Petroleum location, in Alberta. Reporting to the Agribusiness Manager, the Yard Attendant plays a key role in supporting warehouse and yard operations while providing exceptional customer service.
This role is responsible for assisting customers with locating and loading products, maintaining accurate inventory flow, supporting shipping and receiving, and ensuring the yard and warehouse remain clean, organized, and safe. The Yard Attendant also contributes to the professional image of South Country Co-op by delivering service that reflects our values and commitment to our members.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide friendly, efficient service by assisting customers with locating and loading products.
Load, unload, and handle product safely throughout the warehouse, yard, and storage areas.
Perform stocking, pricing, and inventory control
Support shipping and receiving tasks, including checking deliveries, organizing product, and maintaining accurate inventory flow.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas by following housekeeping and safety procedures.
Complete pricing, stocking, and product rotation to ensure accuracy and availability.
Uphold South Country Co-op's standards for safety, teamwork, and service excellence
Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous warehouse, yard, or related experience is an asset.
Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract.
Physically able to lift and move more than 55 lbs on a daily basis.
Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
Able to work independently.
Able to read land locations and maps.
Ability to adapt to new technology.
Basic computer skills with the ability to perform data entry accurately.
High level of integrity and work ethic
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
High level of integrity, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn
Availability: Monday-Friday (occasional weekends as needed)
