Position Summary: An introduction to the field of feminist visual culture studies with an emphasis on how gender, sexuality, race and power shape all visual experiences. Rooted in feminist theory and art history, this field examines texts within a transnational context ranging from painting and photography to comics and pornography. Focus is on the production of texts by artists, including feminist artists.
