Job Description

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Qualify Writing Coach to help elementary and middle school students develop their writing abilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the writing process and the ability to work with a wide range of students across various genres and skill levels. As a Writing Coach, you will provide feedback, guidance, and support to help cstudents craft clear, compelling, and well-structured content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Personalized Coaching: Work one-on-one or in group settings with students to provide tailored writing advice and constructive feedback on their work.
• Writing Assessment: Review writing samples to identify areas for improvement, such as grammar, tone, structure, coherence, and overall effectiveness.
• Goal Setting: Help writers set realistic goals for their writing improvement and provide strategies to achieve them.
• Skill Development: Teach writing techniques and best practices, including brainstorming, outlining, drafting, revising, and editing.
• Content Enhancement: Guide writers in improving clarity, precision, and creativity in their writing, helping them develop a unique voice and writing style.
• Ongoing Support: Offer continual encouragement, resources, and tools to help clients stay motivated and on track with their writing projects.
• Workshops & Group Sessions: Lead writing workshops or group coaching sessions on various writing topics, such as storytelling, persuasive writing, and professional communication.
• Performance Tracking: Keep track of progress, providing regular updates to clients and adjusting coaching strategies as necessary.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in writing or coaching, with a strong portfolio of writing samples or client success stories.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
• Analytical Ability: The ability to evaluate writing objectively and provide constructive criticism while maintaining a positive and encouraging tone.
• Coaching Skills: Previous experience in teaching, tutoring, or coaching individuals, with a focus on writing.
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
• Adaptability: Ability to work with diverse clients, adjusting your coaching style to meet their individual needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced Degree: Master's degree in English, Creative Writing, or a related field.
• Technical Writing Experience: Familiarity with business, academic, or technical writing.
• Writing Background: Published work or experience with a variety of writing formats (e.g., articles, essays, books, reports).

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 8 per week
