Are you passionate about the student experience with work-integrated learning and building strong industry relationships? NAIT is undergoing a transformation of NAIT's Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and is seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Coordinator to lead the coordination and delivery of a portfolio of WIL programs at the certificate, diploma and degree level.
Reporting to the Manager of Experiential Learning, the successful candidate will have exceptional customer service and critical thinking skills, are highly organized, possess the ability to develop processes, see details often missed, and have influence. These qualities are partnered with an ability to work with a variety of systems and understand how they interact. The successful candidate will be agile and understand that change can be an opportunity to build something amazing. The School of Media and Information Technology - NAIT is one of the areas the successful candidate will work in.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Coaching and Placement support (40%)

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all WIL activities for a select portfolio of programs and support students through and during the placement process.
  • Provide administrative oversight on WIL course delivery.
  • Facilitate connections between students and employers through events and outreach.
  • Monitor, maintain, and mediate student-employer relationships, resolving issues as needed.
Employer Engagement (30%)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers to expand WIL opportunities.
  • Assist employers in creating job postings and navigating the WIL process.
  • Work with funding agencies to help secure funding for employers. E.g. MITAC /SWPP.
Program Administration (30%)
  • Develop and refine efficient, consistent processes across WIL programs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of WIL students for statistical purposes in collaboration with administrative staff.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from students and employers to inform program improvements.
  • Contribute to the development of WIL policies, procedures, and guidelines

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field. A diploma with equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 3 - 5 years of experience working with post-secondary students/coordinating
  • Driver's License required
Preferred:
  • Experience with WIL or experiential learning programs; diploma or degree in business.
  • Experience working in a post-secondary environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable working in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Familiarity with WCB policies and workplace safety considerations for student placements.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).
Remuneration: $61,997.52 - $83,085.08 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification - Coordinator I).
This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
