The Opportunity

We are looking for a Work Plan Manager, Distribution to join our Energy Delivery Services team. Reporting to the Manager, Energy Delivery Scheduling, you will be responsible for the forecasting, organizing, planning, resource assignment, and tracking of Nova Scotia Power\'s Distribution work.

Key elements of this role include:

  • Analyzing all Distribution work and resources to determine the optimal work plan and resource assignment, integrating various factors such as capital and operating budget objectives, customer service level and performance standards, maintenance compliance, and work efficiency.
  • Recommending internal resource allocation changes and the use of external contractor resources as deemed appropriate.
  • Accurate and timely reporting of Distribution capital project and portfolio status and for providing regular financial and resource forecasts for the capital program.
  • Working closely with other Work Plan Managers to build and execute an integrated resource plan that considers the full breadth of work in the Transmission, Distribution and Substation work plan.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with Nova Scotia Power capital program stakeholders in various areas of the business to ensure work plans are understood and processes and procedures are in place to support successful execution of the capital program.
  • Working closely with external contractors to ensure assigned work is managed to the requirements of Nova Scotia Power.
  • Working with all parties to troubleshoot and resolve the challenges and issues relating to the planning and execution of all Distribution line work.
  • Lead a regional team of T&D Operations Schedulers that are responsible for the creation and follow through of an efficient and effective work plan forecasting short and medium term workloads.
The successful candidate will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. They will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

You must be flexible and be available for overtime during peak seasons and after hour emergency service restoration.

Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Business or equivalent, Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technologist, or minimum five years related experience.

Experience working for a regulated utility business would be considered an asset.

Experience managing multiple projects, scheduling and resource allocation.

Team player who is a highly analytical, creative problem solver with strong communication skills.

Strategic user of technological tools such as Maximo, G4/Field Service, CIS, and Microsoft Office, and is knowledgeable in the areas of scheduling, planning, forecasting. * This position may require travel, you must possess a valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with a clear driver\xe2\x80\x99s abstract.
