We are searching for a Work and Learn Program Educator to join our Learning & Development team based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

About the Opportunity
  • Identifies learning and development requirements by conducting needs assessments.
  • In collaboration with the Learning and Development Specialist and Manager, Work and Learn Programs and Parternships, plans and develops program curriculum related to the Work and Learn program
  • Evaluates programs; performs research on relevant topics, develops and/or revises modules and presentation materials as appropriate
  • Develops associated learning and development policies, procedures, standards and evaluation guidelines
  • Develops a multi-cohort delivery schedule to support both classroom and on-the-job learning
  • Delivers and facilitates education sessions to groups
  • Visits participants regularly onsite and assists in the assessment, coaching and reinforcement of learning
  • Where applicable, coordinates with in-house Allied Health Professionals to assist in the development and delivery of content (i.e. OT, PT, Dietitian)
  • Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of training and development programs and implements necessary modifications
  • Maintains regular contact with program participants and operational leaders
  • Works closely with operational teams to evaluate participant progress (strengths and gaps)
About You

In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability, you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Diploma in Practical Nursing preferred
  • Active practicing license in good standing
  • Minimum 3-5 years working as in healthcare environment
  • Experience working with regulated education programs and certificates
  • 1-3 years experience designing, developing, and delivering education programs would be considered an asset
  • Completed Certificate in Adult Education, Train the Trainer, Food Safety Certification Trainer, CPR/First A Certification Trainer, Dementia and Related Dementias Care Course, would be considered an asset
