Job Description


The Edmonton Police Service is seeking one (1) Warrant Management Clerk with excellent initiative and judgement to work in the Court Document & Warrant Processing (CDWP) Unit. CDWP is a collaborative, fast paced, and often changing environment requiring an extensive knowledge of law enforcement processes and programs. The successful candidate is responsible for managing and interpreting court documents to support operational units within EPS and other agencies across Canada. The successful candidates will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Create and maintain additions, modifications, and removals of Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) records.
  • Monitor incoming notifications and documents from the courts, review internal flags, and liaise with other Alberta Justice agencies to ensure entries on EPS Records Management System (RMS) and CPIC remain accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain the Alberta Courts file awaiting disposition.
  • Process all incoming and executed Warrant files.
  • Enter and maintain Court Orders which include: Recognizances, Release Orders, Probation Orders, and Prohibitions.
  • Process and interpret legal documents from a wide variety of police, court, and partner agencies.
  • Act as subject matter experts on CPIC and other police databases. Assist with orientation and training for new employees as required.
  • Report document and process concerns to the CDWP supervisor.
  • Performing other related assignments as required.
Qualifications
  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications and a minimum of two (2) yearsxe2x80x99 diversified work and information processing experience.
OR Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to data entry or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college and a minimum of two (2) years diversified data entry experience including general office procedures. * Advanced level knowledge and understanding of police and court documents, applicable legislation, statutes, and processes is an asset.
  • Recent or active experience using Police and Alberta Justice RMS, including EPROS, NICHE, CPIC, ORCA and JOIN is an asset.
  • Able to process a large volume of work from various sources with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Experience working in an analytical environment and the ability to prioritize incoming requests while maintaining great attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills are required.
  • Ability to apply analytical thinking, sound decision making, and exercise independent judgement while working independently (or with minimal supervision) as well as in part of a team.
Hours of Work:
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary Range:
21B, Salary Grade: 007, $23.787 - $29.534 (Hourly), $1,903.00 - $2,362.70 (Bi-Weekly), $49,667.26 - $61,666.99 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.
