Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and innovative Woodshop Technician to join our team. As a Woodshop Technician, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of our woodworking shop, as well as utilizing your expertise in CAD, CNC operation, 3D printing, and computer programming to help us design and create custom pieces of furniture.

Responsibilities:

  • Program and operate our CNC Router machines, to produce, repeatable, precise and high-quality pieces
  • Utilize your expertise in CAD software to design and create technical drawings for custom pieces of furniture
  • Maintain and troubleshoot our woodworking machinery and equipment, including the CNC machines, 3D printers, and other shop tools
  • Collaborate with our craftsmen to ensure all projects are completed on time and to the highest quality standards
  • Utilize 3D printing technology to produce, shop jigs, prototypes and models for custom pieces
  • Help to maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the proper storage of materials and tools
  • Support the team in the fabrication and assembly of custom and prodution furniture and prototypes
  • Assist in the finishing process, including sanding, staining, and finishing of completed projects
  • Maintain an inventory of materials, tools, and supplies
  • Communicate effectively with the team to ensure project goals and timelines are met
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
Qualifications:
  • Must live in or near North Bay Ontario, or be able to move and work in North Bay Ontario before the end of September. This is a full time, in person, position
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Already have a Visa, Permanent Residency or Citizenship)
  • High school diploma or equivalent, some college is an advantage
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials and equipment
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and protocols in a woodworking shop
  • Experience working with solid surface materials like Corian and/or thermoforming sheet plastic is an asset.
  • Preferred 2+ years of experience in a woodworking shop or related field
  • Preferred proficiency in CAD software, including SolidWorks and/or Fusion360
  • Preferred experience programming and operating CNC machines, including routers, laser cutters, and plasma cutters
  • Preferred experience with 3D printing technology and software, including PrusaSlicer
  • Preferred Basic programming skills, including G-code and/or Python
