MOBIA is currently looking for a Wireless Network Technician to join our team in Newfoundland.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to corrective network problems Diagnose and analyze outages with the use of remote monitoring tools
• Performing effective/efficient problem analysis Dispatch field operations technician to restore service
• Rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are met
• Coordinate with other Technicians and departments as required to obtain maintain service levels
• Perform cutovers and upgrades on the network as directed by work orders
• Perform acceptance tests on newly installed sites and equipment to ensure results meet design specifications
• Participate in retune activities associated with network optimization and build activities
• Test hand-offs, RSSI, transmit level on mobiles, dropped calls and investigate any changes
• Maintain current documentation of site status, complete trouble tickets, incident report and other required reports
• Willing to work part time doing on call shifts

Skills / Qualifications & Requirements:

• College degree or relevant experience in electronics, telecommunications, electrical engineering, computer electronics or equivalent
• Microwave and Transmission experience would be beneficial (e.g. DS1, DS2 ,DS3)
• Optical Fibre, SONET and knowledge of TCP/IP is required
• Microsoft Office experience
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and security clearances
• Ability to travel within Newfoundland
• Valid driver\'s license and clean drivers abstract
• Proficient in the use of computers
• Troubleshooting and working under pressure
• Seeking part time employment
• Shift work, overtime, and 24 hour on-call support is required on a regular rotational basis
