What you\'ll do
  • Analyze and learn architecture and implmlementaiton of existing L1 software and firmware, familiarize with test and verification tools and processes.
  • Work with cross functional team to analyze behaviour of the L1 component in various use cases and deployment scenarios.
  • Make modifications to L1 software/firmware to address defects and/or add new functionality.
  • Support integration activities with customers L2/L3 layers of the stack.
  • Contribute to all stages of software development process starting from design, through implementation and test to integration and deployment.
  • Assist field testing and verify product performance using lab instruments.
What you need to get the job done
  • 7+ years of experience designing and implementing Physical Layer (Layer 1) functions (base station side) and their software control for at least one wireless technology, preferably LTE, 5G NR or satellite communication.
  • In-depth understanding of DSP concepts, floating- and fixed-point models.
  • Knowledge of C/C++ programming languages, familiarity with MATLAB.
  • Familiarity with TI TCI 6638 and TCI 6678 SoCs.
  • Familiarity with Small Cell Forum nFAPI interfaces.
  • Experience developing and verifying L1 control, generating and debugging test vectors for L1 blocks for LTE, 5G-NR or satcom base stations.
  • In-depth understanding of wireless communication system (OFDM/MIMO, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of communication theory & signal processing related algorithms design (such as timing recovery, signal estimation and detection, downlink, and uplink OFDM signal chains, channel estimation etc.)
  • Knowledge of components/modules composed of digital front-end systems in a radio, possible impairments, corresponding calibration and impairment reduction methods/algorithms, digital pre-distortion, PAPR reduction algorithms, Tx power control, etc.
  • Experience in modem architecture, microprocessor architecture, hardware, and software control are plus.
