Summary:

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort - Winter 2023/2024

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Resort Services Team Lead is a key member of the Resort team. This role continually strives to provide our guests with the finest mountain recreational experience by ensuring a safe and well-maintained resort facilities and base area through effective and safe management of Resort Services and Snow Removers. This is a hands-on position which provides direction to crews and ensures that all departmental documentation and administration is completed accurately and in a timely basis.

Resort Services Team Lead - Winter 2023/2024

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Resort Services Team Lead is a key member of the Resort team. This role continually strives to provide our guests with the finest mountain recreational experience by ensuring a safe and well-maintained resort facilities and base area through effective and safe management of Resort Services and Snow Removers. This is a hands-on position which provides direction to crews and ensures that all departmental documentation and administration is completed accurately and in a timely basis.

You will:

\xc2\xb7 Hire and train seasonal Resort Services and Snow Removers teams (this includes at heights training)

\xc2\xb7 Manage day-to-day operations and assign tasks to the Resort Services and Snow Removers teams

\xc2\xb7 Manage all on-mountain food delivery, ensuring carts and contents are delivered to Eagles Eye on schedule

\xc2\xb7 Ensure housekeeping duties are completed regularly (garbage removal, Yurt and Jelly Bean bathroom cleaning, etc.)

\xc2\xb7 Oversee the set up and maintenance of the Base Area Skating Rink

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all check lists are completed and accurate (Daily Checks, Snow Removal Checks, Sanding and Shovel and Gravel checks)

\xc2\xb7 Attend weekly events meetings to help coordinate needs from Resort Services and Snow Removal

\xc2\xb7 Coordinate with all departments to complete tasks

\xc2\xb7 Manage labor costs through effective and efficient scheduling, inputting and approval of employee hours of work through ADP

\xc2\xb7 Operate snow removal and other equipment (front-end loader, bobcat, large snow plows, snow blowers) in a safe and responsible manner

\xc2\xb7 Oversee the removal of snow from KHMR building facilities in a safe and responsible manner

\xc2\xb7 Ensure signs, ropes, gates and pylons are in place and maintained for guest and staff safety

\xc2\xb7 Ensure all equipment used is maintained and operated in a safe, efficient and responsible manner, reporting any unusual equipment or machine noise to maintenance

\xc2\xb7 Ensure daily light maintenance is completed (topping up fluids, cleaning interior and exterior, greasing, and fueling of machinery as needed

\xc2\xb7 Ensure pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment is completed at end of shift

\xc2\xb7 Ensure daily vehicle log sheets and input forms (i.e. fuel) are completed accurately

\xc2\xb7 Direct traffic and provide assistance to guests (building locations, conditions, special events, etc.)

\xc2\xb7 Act as a \xe2\x80\x9cResort Ambassador\xe2\x80\x9d to guests by being familiar with various resort products and services

\xc2\xb7 Comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program

\xc2\xb7 Work extended & flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays when required

\xc2\xb7 Adhere to and enforce OH&S and environmental policies and programs

\xc2\xb7 Other duties as assigned

You:

\xc2\xb7 Have previous experience in a customer service, maintenance, construction, or related role

\xc2\xb7 Hold a valid class 5 license with a clear driver\'s abstract

\xc2\xb7 Must be physically able to stand and turn, lift up to 30 pounds

\xc2\xb7 Comfortable working at heights

\xc2\xb7 Have a mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic operations and maintenance of equipment

\xc2\xb7 Are familiar with small power tools (hand drill, etc.)

\xc2\xb7 Are an intermediate to advanced skier/snowboarder to access mid-mountain locations

\xc2\xb7 This role will be exposed for brief periods to extreme weather conditions at the resort (snow, wind, cold) in isolated areas

\xc2\xb7 Are team oriented, with a desire to make a positive contribution to the entire resort

\xc2\xb7 Have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people
