The Sandy Lake Mamow Weechiwaywin Program provides support, guidance and advocacy to families who are involved with the Child Welfare system, or families who are at risk of involvement. Our goal is to support our families to stay together, and to stay healthy.??

All My Relations Wellness Cultural Worker - All my relations worker is a term that is used by the medicine man when he prays, and the doors are open after a round during a sweat lodge ceremony. ??

All My Relations Wellness worker is responsible for providing support to the coordinator and ensuring support the program delivery.??
Role Responsibilities:??
Developing monthly calendars of events & workshops that focus on developing life skills for children, youth and families at risk or involved in child welfare
Provide wholistic, hands on supports for families that need it with the elder's guidance
Ensure that children and youth in care as well as adults at risk or open to child welfare have access to regular opportunities to connect to their culture, language and community.
Develop communication and promotional strategies and materials to promote and inform Participants of Wellness initiatives both from the program and within Winnipeg.
Consult with clients to identify needed programs and services.
Attend regular training on subjects relevant to the delivery of support services such as crisis intervention, post-traumatic stress, conflict resolution, vicarious trauma and self-care.
Develop clear work plans, and capture all client participation in the database
Work closely with clients who are returning from treatment or who have expressed the need for supports to participate regularly in aftercare opportunities.
Work closely with child and family advocates to ensure that clients receive the wrap-around services identified in their safety plans and case plans.
Provide episodic and emergency supports to families in crisis including organizing the emergency food pantry
Develop a list of community knowledge keepers and organize learning opportunities to share that traditional knowledge.
Organize on the land trips that follow safe standards and practices.
Order Supplies and keep all supplies stored and inventoried in an organized way.
Other duties as assigned by your immediate supervisor and the Chief and Council
Qualifications and Competencies Requirements??
At least 2 years of experience in the delivery and coordination of Wellness promotion programs or related programming, or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
Experience working in rural and remote Sandy Lake Band community members.
Knowledge of the overall Mamow Weechiwaywin mandate, goals, and objectives
Knowledge and experience in community development in wellness
Understanding of the different social services system, including opportunities and challenges for Sandy Lake First Nation face in Thunder Bay.
Knowledge and understanding of promotion and prevention programs as they relate to wellness and the social programs within Thunder Bay for Sandy Lake Band members
Knowledge of issues related to residential schools, addictions, and trauma.
Knowledge of Sandy Lake First Nation Mamow Weechiwaywin holistic way of assisting community members on or off reserve.
Schedule: Flexibility 40 hours a week
Education: High school, college, or university
Experience: Related experience 2 years (preferred)
Current Criminal Reference Check
Must have drivers license preferably "G"

Pay: $24.00-$36.06 per hour
