  • Create an exceptional and welcoming experience and environment to build NB\xe2\x80\x99s wine culture
  • Describe our wines, history, people, philosophy, vineyard, and cellar practices to add value to our guests experiences
  • Understand and interpret a guests requirements and suggest dishes and wines that suit their taste
  • Adjusting the flow of the tour to ensure it remains within the allotted time slot
  • Planning itineraries in accordance with weather forecasts and the length of each tour
  • Ability to aid in multiple departments due to the flexible nature of the tours
  • Be willing to put own spin on tour points, such as making jokes and providing insightful commentary
  • Cleaning and organizing of all spaces including tasting rooms, storage rooms and washrooms
  • Assist with special events such as private dinners, media tastings and others
  • Representing Magnetic Hill Winery at external winery events when needed
  • Looking sharp and professional every day, while still being approachable and friendly
A day in the life:
  • Assemble and check required supplies and equipment are ready for tour
  • Greeting and welcoming guests to the tour
  • Host tours and tastings providing exceptional guest experiences that translate into wine sales
  • Educate on local wine culture and the products that are offered
  • Describe points of interest along the tour and answer questions as required
  • Promote information on winery offerings, while informing on local and global wine trends and similar experiences in the area
  • Translating and interpreting as needed
  • Helps fellow team members and other departments wherever necessary
Preferred:
  • Bilingual (French and English) or multi-lingual
  • Love dogs! (Magnum and Brix our Australian Shepherds are around for lots of cuddles)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Tour guide experience is an asset
What you bring:
  • A love for wine
  • Able to work well with others and can also get things done solo, all while producing great results. Whether as part of a team or on their own, you\xe2\x80\x99ll never compromise on quality.
  • Great public speaking skills
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial spirit with a high energy level
  • Willingness to complete the Responsible Beverage certificate training
  • Willingness to complete WSET certification
  • Available to work evenings, weekend and holidays
  • A love for local and basic knowledge of other local businesses and tourists attractions in the city
  • Physically fit to meet requirements of lifting 35 lb-50 lb cases of wine, standing for long periods in various environments
  • Be at least 19 years of age
  • Safely adhere to public health and Covid policies and guidelines to maintain a safe environment
