ABOUT THE ROLE

TransAlta is hiring and intern for its Melancthon wind site to support the Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician or Blade Maintenance teams! No Wind experience or specific trade required. TransAlta is providing internal technical & safety trainings. Working alongside the maintenance team, the candidate will be assigned activities defined by the senior staff of the team for troubleshooting and repairing the wind turbine components.
TransAlta offers a safe work environment, extensive training, a competitive salary and an opportunity to secure a position as a Wind Technician. Wind Technician Intern positions are a full-time 6-month term to experience and learn about the Wind Technician position. Scholarship is available to successful candidates that are currently studying in Wind Turbine Preventive Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical or Blade Repairs programs. Opportunity to extend the position to a longer term.
The position will be located in Melancthon, Ontario.
WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Technician\'s role is to maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical controllers to operate and maintain wind turbines.
REQUIREMENTS

  • No Wind experience or specific trade is required
  • Technical and safety training will be provided
  • As this is a safety-sensitive position, successful completion of required pre-employment testing is a condition of employment
