Job Description


I am looking for a Wildlife Biologist. Someone who is ready to take that next step in their career. You will be working with multidisciplinary technical teams, have input into the growth and direction of a team, and have demonstrated capabilities in leading environmental assessments and assessing terrestrial ecosystems.

Remote / WFH / Hybrid: Hybrid

Travel: Seasonal travel between May - Sept.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting field inventory programs (e.g., vegetation, wildlife, habitat characterization) and evaluating impacts on terrestrial ecosystem values.
  • Assisting in managing projects and project teams while also responding to client requests.
  • Assisting in completing environmental assessments, including impact assessments, environmental evaluations, environmental risk assessments and navigating regulatory approval processes.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, proposals, and design briefs.
  • Participating in preparing and delivering presentations on project outcomes internally and/or to clients and regulators.
  • Collaborating with a dynamic team of environmental scientists and engineers.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant pure or applied science.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience specific to managing multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Professional registration or eligibility for registration (e.g. P.Ag., P.Biol.).
  • Working knowledge of the provincial regulatory system related to wildlife and species inventories.
  • Strong wildlife identification skills, with a focus on bird identification (visual and auditory).
  • Experience with invertebrate, amphibian, mammal, and species at risk surveys is considered an asset.
  • GIS capabilities are considered an asset.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines within a team environment.
  • Ability to manage diverse projects and budgets.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and provide supervisory support to other team members.
  • Ability to travel for short periods of time.
  • Valid driver\'s license.
