The Role
We are looking for a
Print Production Specialist
to operate wide-format printers and CNC equipment, as well as perform finishing tasks. The ideal candidate has a background in
industrial design
or
graphic design
, bringing a strong technical and problem-solving mindset to the team.
At BOOM Imaging, we cross-train team members to ensure flexibility and efficiency, enabling you to learn and contribute across various roles.
Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
:
Operate wide-format printers, CNC machines, laminators, and other finishing equipment.
Set up digital print production files using printer RIP software and Adobe Creative Suite tools.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing and cutting equipment.
Workflow Management
:
Manage print jobs to ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities.
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient production environment.
Technical Problem-Solving
:
Use an industrial design or graphic design background to address challenges during production and suggest efficient solutions.
Cross-train and step into other roles within production when needed to ensure seamless operations.
Quality Control
:
Monitor projects to ensure final outputs meet or exceed client specifications.
Communicate effectively with prepress, finishing, and shipping departments to ensure high standards of quality and accuracy.
Qualifications
Required
:
Experience operating wide-format printers and CNC equipment.
Background in
industrial design
or
graphic design
with a technical, problem-solving mindset.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) for file preparation and printer RIP workflows.
Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software and technologies.
Excellent organizational and workflow management skills.
Team-oriented with a willingness to cross-train and support multiple roles.
Preferred
:
Experience in finishing tasks such as laminating and cutting.
Knowledge of production equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements
:
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
Comfortable standing for long periods.
