Overview

We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently while ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety.

The successful candidate will start their day in Victoria, then travel up to our Duncan location after making various pickups, then return back to Victoria with other freight for delivery.

Duties

Operate a van to transport freight to various locations as scheduled. Ensure the safe loading and unloading of goods, utilizing proper techniques to prevent damage. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including time, mileage, and any incidents that occur during transport. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any delays. Assist in moving items as needed within the warehouse or loading area. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while driving and handling freight.

Qualifications

Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) preferred; experience in commercial driving is a plus. Mechanical knowledge to identify basic vehicle issues is advantageous. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively. Ability to lift heavy items and move freight as required in various environments. A commitment to safety practices while driving and handling goods is essential.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
