As a Western Health & Safety Field Manager at CIMS LP, you will be a key contributor towards CIMS success by providing strategic oversight and leadership for health and safety initiatives across all projects in British Columbia and the Pulp & Paper business unit while embodying CIMS corporate values of Our People, Our Promise, Our Passion.
You will report to the Director of Health, Safety & Community and be accountable for:
Demonstrating hands-on H&S leadership and direction to the regional H&S and operations team, both in the office & at project sites, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and fostering a proactive safety culture.
Overseeing implementation and continuous improvement of H&S systems across all projects, ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies, and operational needs.
Ensuring effective allocation and management of H&S resources, including personnel, tools, and training, to support safe and efficient project execution.
A successful candidate would be an individual who has:
A bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field or equivalent or, a combination of a post-secondary degree/diploma and a post graduate certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
10+ years progressive experience in an H&S role.
Completion of CRSP or NCSO designation or actively working towards the designation is an asset.
Proven leadership capabilities - capable of mentoring, coaching and developing high performing teams.
Working conditions you can expect while performing your role include:
Working outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
Working in a portable trailer on client sites with adequate lighting and temperature.
Working on customer sites, supplier premises and other facilities.
