Be the Spark
Do you want your talent to have a positive impact on the people you work with? Are you seeking new ways to maximize and develop your expertise? Do you want to work in an environment where people come first? We have an opportunity for you, because here, you can be the spark.
Every day, more than 1,200 people work with the YMCAs of Quebec network, providing a variety of services that create positive change in people's lives.
Camp YMCA Kanawana is Quebec's oldest residential summer camp, offering innovative programming and traditional YMCA values-based camping. Staff members live on-site for the duration of the summer, from June to August. Salaries include food, lodging and transportation to and from camp.
The Wellness Coordinator is available on call at all times for supporting staff and campers' mental well-being, and will take on an active role in supporting staff in creating action plans for campers in need. They will assist with planning and executing training sessions for staff members regarding behaviour interventions and mental health support for campers, and participate in interventions throughout the summer with interpersonal relationship and mental health issues with campers and staff. They will research out-of-camp resources to continue the process of creating a stable environment for staff and campers to work on their mental well-being, and assist the health care staff in the infirmary in organizing camper medications and end-of-session tasks. They will also participate in all-camp events and stewardship as part of the senior staff team.
