We are currently seeking a Well Servicing Engineer or Technologist in our Dawson Creek office. Reporting to the Well Servicing Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring technical excellence during all phases of project management from design, planning, execution, and lookbacks. The role includes managing technical, operational and safety competencies, prioritizing and scheduling resources to manage well servicing operations and ensuring all deliverables are achieved with a focus on safe and efficient operations.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluate project economics to optimize production to add volumes and reduce costs, and execute on those projects identified as priority
  • Identify and support operating cost saving initiatives to improve operational efficiency of processing equipment and wells
  • Coordinate, program, and execute well servicing activities on wells including snubbing rigs, service rig work, coil tubing units, slickline units, and other associated services
  • Support the Operations group for well and facility troubleshooting of artificial lifts, plunger lifts, SCADA, management of change initiatives, and production issues
  • Manage and coordinate execution of all well servicing operations programs in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure regulatory and HSE compliance for Field Production activities
  • Ensure standard operating procedures and best practices are implemented consistently across well preparation, program design, and execution
  • Investigate new technologies and promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Monitor, interpret and trouble shoot existing well production anomalies
  • Frequent field visits to support safety initiatives, promote a positive safety culture, and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Work closely with Onsite Supervisors and vendors to support day-to-day operations and coordinate technical support to operations
  • Lead by example and promote understanding and adherence to all safety regulations, AER regulatory requirements, and ARC-specific policies and procedures
  • Research, evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve well servicing operations or well productivity
  • Organize lookbacks (bi-annual basis) to discuss execution success, share lessons learned with the team, and discuss any improvement opportunities
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:
The candidate we seek has a minimum of 4 years of experience and has a strong focus on subsurface well operations, project management and production operations. In addition, the successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
  • A degree or diploma from an accredited university or college in petroleum, mechanical, chemical, or electrical engineering, or a related discipline
  • Excellent knowledge of horizontal well operations and a solid understanding of wellbore construction and completion techniques
  • Strong technical understanding of field execution and working with service rigs including coil tubing and wireline operations
  • Proven ability to write and implement programs for subsurface operations
  • Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence, safety, and taking initiative
  • Demonstrated commitment to ethics and integrity
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interface with all levels of the organization in a positive manner
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with a continuous improvement philosophy
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory requirements in British Columbia
  • Exposure to Drilling, Completions, and Development Engineering would be an asset

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • As this role is considered risk sensitive, the successful candidate will be required to successfully complete drug and alcohol testing, and a fitness to work test.
  • The base salary range for this position is $80,000 CAD to $130,000 CAD. The posted salary range is reflective of the qualifications associated with this specific advertisement. Exact salary/wage may vary based on qualifications, experience and skillset. Additionally, all permanent employees are eligible to participate in ARC's competitive bonus, long-term incentive, savings plan, and benefits programs.
