Welding Instructor - Trades (Terrace)
Job description and duties
Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for a non-regular Instructor to teach the welding modules of the Heavy Mechanical program. The appointment will be commencing as soon as possible and end January 30, 2026 and will include 111 instructional hours. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale, ranging from $37.55 to $53.81 per hour plus pay in lieu of vacation and benefits.

Duties: The Instructor will teach the welding modules of the Heavy Mechanical program. and is responsible for ensuring student success. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. In addition, the instructor will oversee and ensure shop safety, complete the related administrative, record keeping and monitoring activities as well as other related duties as required.
Qualifications
An Interprovincial Red Seal Endorsement and Grade 12 or equivalent. Experience should include a minimum of 5 years of varied field experience as a Journeyperson and 5 years in a supervisory capacity. A Provincial Instructor Diploma or other relevant teaching certification and experience are preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Require skills/abilities include:
A valid Class 5 Driver's license
Demonstrated enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to inspire and mentor learners of all ages
Knowledge and passion for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
Effective cross-cultural communication skills, particularly with the Indigenous communities
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and accurately in a collaborative team environment
Excellent organizational, communication and facilitation skills
Intermediate computer skills (word processing, excel, email)
