We are looking to build on our tradition of innovation and growth with the addition of a Welding Inspector to our team. Our ideal candidate will be a versatile self-starter who will oversee inspection in a front-line production environment while communicating with Production, Quality Assurance, and Program Management, to meet the company\'s overall goals. This position will be responsible for weld procedure compliance monitoring, and must be able to test welders, ensure materials compatibility, conduct NDE acceptance processes, and ensure all welding operations are executed in accordance with all relevant Codes of Practice and Company procedures. In this role you will be given the opportunity to make a difference while meeting the day-to-day design, technical, manufacturing and organizational requirements. Responsibilities:
  • Perform in-process and final inspection activities by detailed review of applicable documents, drawings and inspection results (including NDE reports, heat treatments reports and charts, coating reports, welding procedures, etc.), to ensure that product meeting purchase order and codes and standards requirements.
  • Perform Visual and Magnetic Particle (MPI) Inspections
  • Oversee welding certification and welder performance to customer/standard specifications
  • Create welding methods and procedures for CWB and AWS approval through Product Qualification Records (PQR)
  • Recommend and implement solutions for weld quality issues.
  • Troubleshoot and develop root cause analysis of machine and welder issues through evaluation of codes and standards
  • Review new fixtures/equipment as required.
  • Coach and Train Welders to achieve approved weld procedures.
Requirements:
  • Welding Technician/Technologist \xe2\x80\x93 Post Secondary Education required.
  • Level II Welding Inspector certification required.
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Weld Inspection - Visual, Liquid penetration, Mag Particle (oversee 3rd party inspections).
  • Welding Tickets an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent PC skills with emphasis on MS Excel, Word, Project
  • P. Eng or eligibility an asset
