We are currently looking for an experienced and highly motivated individual for a full-time Welding Automation Technician role. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Welding Automation Technician (Welder/Millwright) will play a crucial role in advancing our automation projects by leveraging their expertise in welding processes, both manual and robotic. The Welding Technician will have a proven background in production welding and a strong aptitude for robotic programming. This could be demonstrated through direct experience in robotic welding programming, by being a qualified technician capable of efficiently operating automated equipment, or as an experienced journeyman welder eager to expand into robot programming. Previous experience or training with Fanuc systems is highly desirable, as is familiarity with other automation platforms. You are a driven individual with a passion for welding and a desire to learn and grow alongside a dedicated team of professionals. Your expertise will help drive efficiency, enhance productivity, and contribute to the continued success of Innovair Automation.

As a Welding Automation Technician, you will:



Program robotic systems parts and perform welding development on projects for our customers; Utilize manual welding systems and advanced techniques to fabricate high-quality components for automation projects; Perform quality control checks to ensure each component meets precise standards of durability and finish; Assemble and build systems using standard fabrication tools such as drill presses, grinders, and other related equipment; Work directly with team members and at time customers to develop key project criteria, current state, desired end state, specific design requirements and overall project requirements and incorporates all factors as much as is practical into the final system design; Program and operate robotic welding systems both on-site and in-house, ensuring precision and adherence to project specifications; Leverage experience with robotic systems including Fanuc and integration with PLC and HMI systems; Work with pneumatic and hydraulic systems to optimize the overall performance of welding automation processes; Interpret mechanical drawings and control system schematics to support design implementation and troubleshooting; Collaborate with the Automation team to develop innovative solutions for production challenges; Engage in ongoing training and development opportunities to stay at the forefront of welding automation technology; Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring proper handling of equipment and materials; Perform project work and other duties, as required.

Welding Automation Technician Requirements:



Have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in production or manufacturing welding; Hold certifications such as CWB, AWS, or ASME welding (or equivalent); Demonstrated experience with robotic welding systems and programming, preferably with Fanuc platforms; Have a strong understanding of welding fundamentals, automation technology, and mechanical control systems; Experience with pulse welding technology with MIG/TIG for mild steel, aluminum and stainless steel Experience with PLC and HMI systems, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment is an asset; Be proficient in using MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word); Have experience with 2D and 3D modeling software is considered an asset; Be an excellent communicator with interpersonal, and organizational skills and a proactive problem-solving attitude; Be a keen learner, who is adaptable to new technology and eager for continuous professional development; Have a valid Class 5 Manitoba driver's license with clear driving abstract; Be physically capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling weights up to 50 lbs, and maneuvering equipment up to 1000 lbs using proper techniques; Be willing to travel, to both national and international locations, for on-site work, business requirements and training opportunities.
