Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling and fabricating metal components according to specifications and blueprints. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques and the ability to operate various power and hand tools safely and effectively. As a Welder/Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet quality standards and are delivered on time.

Duties

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine project specifications. Assemble and fabricate metal components using welding techniques such as FCAW and GMAW. Operate power tools, including plasma cutters, grinders, and drills, to shape and prepare materials for welding. Utilize hand tools such as calipers and measuring devices to ensure precise measurements during the fabrication process. Rig materials as necessary for safe lifting and positioning during assembly. Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Skills

Proficiency in welding techniques and processes, with a valid certificate of qualification in flux-cored arc (FCAW) or gas metal arc (GMAW) welding, both are considered an asset. Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings accurately. Be physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time . Experience with power tools such as plasma cutters, grinders, and drills is essential. Familiarity with hand tools like calipers for precise measurements is required. Knowledge of rigging practices for safe material handling is a plus. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
