Whitemud Ironworks Limited is one of the largest open-shop commercial steel fabricator and erector in Western Canada. As a fully integrated company, we specialize in structural and miscellaneous steel projects within the commercial sector.

We currently operate established offices and construction crews in both British Columbia and Alberta, with three fabrication facilities across Alberta totaling over 400,000 square feet.

We are seeking highly skilled

Structural Steel Fitters/Welders

, including both

Apprentices and Journeypersons

, to join our fabrication teams at our

Edmonton (night shift)

and

Nisku (night shifts)

locations.

Night Shift Hours:

4:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday to Thursday

What You Will Do:

Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings Lay out, prepare, and assemble structural steel components for commercial, institutional, and industrial projects Operate metalworking machines and use cutting torches to cut steel, drill or punch holes, and roll, bend, or press steel into required shapes Assemble and fit metal sections and plates to form complete units and sub-units Fasten components together using mechanical means or tack weld in preparation for final welding Select and transport materials to the work area manually or with an overhead crane Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using MCAW, FCAW, and SMAW processes Follow and maintain safe work procedures at all times

Who we're looking for...

Journeyperson Structural Steel Fitter/ Welder certification, or equivalent level of experience (Apprentices also encouraged to apply)*
A reliable and punctual individual with strong work ethic A team player with a high commitment to
