Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled
Welder/Fitter
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural welding and fitting, working with various metals, and adhering to strict safety and quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Perform welding and fitting tasks on structural and marine components.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols to ensure precise fabrication.
Use various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding.
Cut, fit, and assemble metal parts using torches, saws, shears, and other hand or power tools.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain and inspect tools, equipment, and work areas to ensure a safe and organized workspace.
Work collaboratively with other team members to complete projects on time.
Qualifications & Requirements
Proven experience as a
Welder/Fitter
, preferably in the
marine or heavy industrial sector
.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
Strong knowledge of welding techniques and metal fabrication processes.
Ability to use measuring instruments and hand/power tools.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
ABS weld certification is a plus but not required.
Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including outdoor and confined spaces.
Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials as needed.
