We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of of Welder/Fabricator in our Kamloops, BC shop.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up components for welding/fabrication as per standard specifications
  • Weld different metals and alloys in various positions
  • Weld/fabricate a variety of equipment and industrial components
  • Determine appropriate welding equipment or methods based on individual job requirements
  • Read and understand production drawings, blueprints, work orders and other written instructions
  • Operate grinders, gouging and cutting equipment
  • Create jigs and fixtures in an effort to create a quality and repeatable product
  • Maintenance and use of equipment that does not compromise safety
  • Quality - Testing and inspection of welds to discover flaws
  • Participate and comply with all required Health & Safety Programs and training
  • Work safely, lead by example and contribute to Applied\xe2\x80\x99s corporately sponsored safety program
  • Communicate appropriately, confidently and professionally to colleagues and management
  • Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
  • 5 or more years of experience within an industrial setting is required
  • Welding certification or Fabrication certification is required, indentured apprentices\xe2\x80\x99 will be considered
  • Millwright experience would be a huge asset
  • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
  • Mechanical aptitude, experience or certification in other trades an asset
  • Self motivated, organized and able to work independently
  • Able to work in a team environment and utilize all available resources
  • Excellent communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 both oral and written
  • Desire to succeed and grow within the organization
  • Previous supervisory experience will be considered an asset
