Elias Custom Metal is currently seeking experienced candidates for a full time position as a Welder (TIG/MIG) , Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5:30PM.

Available to work afternoon and/or evenings considered an asset

Duties and Responsibilities:



Weld components in flat, vertical or overhead positions

Lay-out, position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to weld using straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers

Examine for defects and measure the work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to welding trade Weld separately or in combination using mild steel, stainless steel and other alloys Develop welding projects by analyzing work orders, prints, and completed assembly; calculating requirements; studying metals; determining appropriate welding techniques Fabricate components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut, burn, and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate method Verify welding results by inspecting and testing welds Maintain safe work environment by following internal procedures and complying with legal regulations Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs, as needed Wear and maintain required personal protective equipment (masks, eye protection, steel-toed footwear, etc.)

Qualifications:



Minimum 5 years of experience as a TIG Welder

Strong working knowledge of various metal finishing tools and methods

Must have the ability and experience working with different types and functions of metal (ranging from aluminum to mild steel, stainless steel etc.)

Speed, manual dexterity, mechanical aptitude and physical coordination

Good oral and written communication skills (English)

Must be willing to take initiative to inspect own work for quality compliance

Noisy and dusty shop/plant environment

Physically demanding - Handling weights, standing, walking, reaching for extended periods

May work overtime, as required

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.96-$29.39 per hour
