Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components using various welding techniques and fitting skills. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with hand and power tools. The Welder/Fitter will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and safety of our products, including ductwork, structural components, and custom assemblies.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG and TIG welding to fabricate metal parts according to detailed schematics and blueprints Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions Use calipers, hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other equipment to cut, shape, and assemble materials Rigging and crane operation to lift and position heavy components safely Conduct machining operations as needed for precise fitting of parts Measure dimensions accurately with calipers and other measuring devices to ensure specifications are met Assist with the assembly of ductwork, structural frameworks, or other custom fabrications Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols Perform routine inspections of welds and fittings for quality assurance

Requirements

Proven experience in welding (MIG and TIG) within a manufacturing or construction environment Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication, assembly, and machinery operation Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and welding equipment Knowledge of rigging procedures and crane operation is preferred Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes Experience with machining processes such as using calipers or working with schematics is advantageous Ability to work safely around heavy machinery including forklifts and cranes Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$37.00 per hour
