Laser-Fab is a highly sophisticated metal fabrication shop with over 17 years of experience serving AB, BC, SASK. G & S Airport Conveyor and Laser-Fab are currently seeking a full time Journeyman Welder to join our team in Strathmore.

Requirements

• Proficient at SS tig welding and polishing to a #4 finish
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding specifications
• Strong computer skills
• Welding robot experience
• Support other departments (Assembly, Machinists) as required
• Operate overhead crane
• Ensure safe work practices are adhered to and appropriate PPE is always worn
• Operate equipment such as welding machines, grinders, polishing equipment
• Rig, joist and move materials to and from workstation
• Work in a team environment
• Choose proper tools/equipment for the task; ensure tools/equipment are operated with care
• Adhere to company safety practices and procedures
• Strong problem-solving ability
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethics
• Lifting up to 50lbs
• Welding and other duties as required
• High School diploma required
• Journeyman Red Seal: CWB qualification ticket an asset
• 2+ years of welding experience in relevant manufacturing environment
• Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions to enchance organizational effectiveness; ability to take on self-directed tasks when necessary

Full benefit package, excluding eye coverage and short term disability, after the customary 90 day probation period. Each employee is deducted a small portion of pay towards this coverage. After one year employees can have a portion of their salary diverted into a group RRSP. The employer will match up to 3% of this contribution.
