SCHEDULE/LOCATION OF WORK
10-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week (Monday - Thursday)
Days & Evenings available ($3/hour shift premium for evenings)
Facility in Rosenort, MB (35 min south of Winnipeg)
As a Welder for K.A. Group, you will play a vital role in the production process, focusing on welding operations to fabricate and assemble components that make up high-quality earthmoving equipment. Your responsibilities will include performing various welding tasks, ensuring structural integrity, and adhering to safety and quality standards to meet the specifications for earthmoving scrapers.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform MIG welding on steel structural tubing and complex assemblies to build various structural components, assemblies, and scrapers.
Demonstrate the ability to layout and weld complicated steel assemblies. Manage heat build-up, distortion, and stack-up, and maintain squareness.
Fabricate parts to meet specific end-use design requirements, ensuring functionality and accuracy.
Read and interpret architectural blueprints and technical drawings.
Take precise measurements and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit and alignment of components.
Operate common power and pneumatic tools effectively, including drills, skill saws, jig saws, routers, grinders, sanders, and torque wrenches.
Perform assigned tasks with minimal supervision, demonstrate high-quality workmanship and efficiency with attention to detail, particularly when working with finish surfaces and materials.
Adhere to all workmanship standards, safety policies, housekeeping requirements, and ISO standards.
Additional duties as assigned to support the goals of the team and organization.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Mechanical aptitude and basic problem-solving skills for understanding root cause analysis.

Basic computer skills for job costing and input of other data crucial to tracking KPIs.

Able to bend, kneel, stoop, stand, reach, climb, twist and/or crawl
The ability to lift to 50lbs unassisted as required.
Able to work in areas regularly exposed to high noise level and vibration, not afraid of heights
Able to pass a weld test
Technical college diploma or equivalent certification in welding or a related field.
Minimum Level II Welder certification with demonstrated ability to handle complex welding and fabrication tasks.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Proven experience in a welding role, with a strong understanding of blueprints and technical documents.
Hands-on experience with various hand and power tools.
Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities throughout the shift.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Excellent safety and housekeeping practice.
Experience with ISO standards or similar quality management systems is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift and maneuver heavy components and materials (up to 50 lbs).
Physical stamina to perform welding and fabrication tasks in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending).
Must be comfortable working in a workshop environment with exposure to welding heat, fumes, and noise.
Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as welding helmets (PAPR), gloves, and protective clothing for extended periods.
