Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM (overtime or weekend work may occasionally be required)

We're looking for an experienced welder to join our fabrication team and contribute to projects that shape waterfronts across Eastern Ontario.


The Opportunity




As a Welder, you'll be part of a collaborative manufacturing team building high-quality marine infrastructure including custom docks, boat lifts, boathouses, and sectional barge components. This role is hands-on, production-focused, and ideal for a skilled tradesperson who takes pride in precision work.


What You'll Do




Welding & Fabrication

+ Weld structural and mild steel using MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-core (FCAW, SMAW, GMAW)
+ Fit and assemble steel components using tack welding, clamps, and measuring tools to ensure accurate alignment and dimensions
+ Lay out and mark cutting lines on materials using measuring tools like squares, levels, and straight edges
+ Operate brake press and plasma cutting equipment to form and cut steel components accurately and efficiently

Material Prep & Fit-Up:

Clean, bevel, and align components to spec using grinders, torches, and saws.

Tool Handling:

Operate standard shop equipment including drills, metal cutting saws, and grinders.

Quality Control:

Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Inspect welds for defects and ensure final assemblies meet company and client standards.

Maintenance:

Care for your tools and equipment and flag any issues early. Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety guidelines.

Collaboration:

Communicate clearly with Shop Foremen and coworkers to coordinate daily work plans and keep production on schedule.

Documentation:

Keep accurate records including timesheets and materials used.

Safety Leadership:

Follow and model all COR Program health and safety protocols, and participate in company-wide safety initiatives.

What You Bring




3-5 years of experience in welding and/or fitting, ideally in a fabrication or industrial setting. Proficiency in welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) and familiarity with various welding equipment. Welding trade certification or equivalent technical training (CWB certification is an asset) Ability to fit, layout, and fabricate from blueprints and technical drawings with a high degree of precision Experience with brake press and plasma cutting tools is a strong asset Forklift and Working at Heights certifications deemed an asset Comfort working in a physical, hands-on environment (lifting up to 50 lbs, work at heights, and outdoors). Attention to detail, pride in your work, and a team-oriented mindset. Knowledge of steel grades, shapes, and structural components.

Bonus Points For




Experience in dock or marine fabrication. A valid Class G driver's license (Class A restricted license is a plus).
