Welder Fabricator - Temporary (6 Month Term, Possibility of Extension)

Allied Industrial Dynamics is a Calgary-based manufacturer and service provider specializing in industrial centrifuges. We provide comprehensive services including manufacturing, fabrication, rebuilds, and maintenance. To meet increasing project demand, we are currently seeking experienced Welder Fabricators for a 6-month term, with potential for extension or conversion to permanent employment based on project needs.
Position Overview:
We are looking for skilled and motivated individuals--ranging from ticketed journeypersons to experienced 2nd year apprentices--who are capable of performing high-quality fabrication and welding work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role will support both the manufacturing of new centrifuge components and the repair/refurbishment of existing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents to plan layout and fabrication steps.
Select appropriate welding methods and equipment based on job specifications.
Prepare and cut materials using powered saws and other tools.
Operate grinders and other equipment to prepare parts for welding.
Fit and align components using calipers, rulers, and clamps.
Perform manual and semi-automatic welding (TIG, MIG, SMAW) in multiple positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
Conduct repairs on equipment by welding, patching, or replacing components.
Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy.
Operate overhead cranes and forklifts in accordance with company safety procedures.
Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition and adhere to all safety regulations.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a welder fabricator in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
Proficiency with various welding techniques (TIG, MIG, SMAW).
Competence in using fabrication tools (saws, grinders, measuring devices, etc.).
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills.
High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to wear all required PPE.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, plus vacation pay and statutory entitlements as per Alberta Employment Standards Code
