JOB SUMMARY:



The incumbent aids in the overall management and operations of the Engineering, and maintenance Department dealing with weld quality, Tooling adjustments, improvements and launching new projects. This position also aids in the planning, organizing, controlling, implementation of a variety of documents.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:



Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to solve problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys. Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment. Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations. Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements. Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes. Troubleshooting complex equipment. Develop documentation, mechanical drawings for various tooling. Develop weld schedules, and steppers. Test weld schedules, steppers to ensure repeatability. Create PM's Schedules Interprets co-ordinates and ensures that a variety of engineering design specifications are in place regarding standards set out by Sodecia Inc and customers. Ensure Sodecia GTAC and machinery guidelines are followed. Researches new technology available to improve assembly, cost and work environment. Supplies all documentation for production, maintenance as requested. Assist to perform internal PSR and PSHSR on all equipment to ensure safety to industry standards. Prove out equipment for cycle time, ergonomics and repeatability. Helps in maintaining and producing procedures for the Engineering Department in accordance with the specified standard adopted by the company. Sets goals and tracks variables agreed upon by management. Responsible in assisting for cost estimating new projects. Must be able to troubleshoot and program articulated robots. Other duties and projects as required by your Manager.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:



Minimum of 3 years related experience in automotive industry Weld Engineer Diploma or equivalent experience. Previous experience with Kuka, Mitsubishi, Nachi, Moto Man and Panasonic robotic equipment an asset. Computer literate (Auto cad, Visio, Microsoft project etc.) Be able to communicate effectively both written and verbal. Be organized enough to maintain documents for this Department. Be able to work with engineering department associates to ensure smooth project launch and handover. Be able to work independently in most situations asking for the expertise of Associates when needed. Have the ability to be trained for the above-mentioned responsibilities and authorities. Good understanding of production atmosphere, good analytical and math skills

Computer programs such as Auto cad, Visio, Microsoft project, Telephones, Printer & Fax Machines, etc

WORKING CONDITIONS:



Well-lit climate-controlled office area. Moderate exposure to noise and dust when in the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Environment Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations while working in "Just in Time" environment. Travel required in and out of the Country as defined by project requirements and as requested by Management.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
