Weekend Dog Jogger & Pet Care Pro - Build Your Future with U
s
Looking for a weekend job that keeps you moving, outdoors, and surrounded by pets?
You might be the next Dog Jogger & Pet Care Pro on our team.
We're Dog Jogs, a pet care company built around reliability, teamwork, and the joy of seeing tails wag. If you're the kind of person who loves a mix of fresh air and furry cuddles and enjoys working weekends with a bit of weekday variety, this might be your perfect fit.
What the role is really like
Picture this: you hop in your car, podcast playing, heading to your first jog of the day. The sun's out or maybe it's lightly snowing (this is Edmonton, after all). Your schedule takes you around the city, spending the next few hours jogging dogs, visiting cats, and sending updates to their grateful humans. Maybe you help a reactive dog make progress, or get a shy cat to come out of their shell, or maybe you hit a new personal best on a run. Either way, you're part of a team that backs each other up and works independently with confidence.
You'll thrive here if you:
Are active and love being outdoors in all seasons
Thrive in a role that gives you freedom, variety, and cuddles
Can handle change and curveballs with patience and flexibility
Like being the person others count on (reliable is your middle name)
Are great at managing your own time and solving problems on the fly
Are comfortable using a few easy-to-learn apps that keep our services seamless
Want to grow your skills (we do training, reactivity work, and more)
Are in it for at least a year, not just for now
The nitty-gritty
Weekend availability required:
Saturdays and Sundays, 9am-5pm
Weekday availability:
Along with weekends, you'll need to be available for 1-2 weekday shifts (choose from 9-2, 10-3, or 11-4).
Pay:
$15/hr + tips, with most weekend staff earning $300-$500/month depending on shifts
Requirements:
able to jog 6-10 km/hr and walk 3-10 km/day, have a reliable vehicle and data-enabled smartphone, be 18+, legally eligible to work in Canada, and able to provide a clear police check
Service areas:
Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, and Beaumont
What you'll get
A supportive team (even on weekends--Slack is always open)
Part-time hours with variety in your day
Built-in fitness, fresh air, and plenty of furry friends
The chance to build lasting relationships, with both pets and their people
Ongoing training and growth opportunities, including reactivity, enrichment, and pet first aid
Where this role can take you
We're not just hiring for the season. We're looking for someone who wants to stick around, grow with us, and become a future Weekend Team Lead.
After your 3-month probation, if you're working at least 3 days a week and things are going well, there's the opportunity to become a Head Jogger, helping train new staff and supporting your teammates.
After 6 months, you may be eligible to step into a Team Lead position--continuing with pet care while mentoring staff, providing feedback, assisting with scheduling, and replying to client messages when needed. Each step comes with a pay increase.
If you're the type who naturally steps up, enjoys helping others succeed, and wants to build something long-term, we'd love to help you grow into that next leadership role.
