We are looking for 1-2 Personal Support Workers to assist our male employer who is non-verbal and in the end stage of ALS with all activities of daily living.
The successful candidates will have complex care experience, understand ALS and have ventilator experience.
Location:
Richmond (Near Russel Sean Fitness)
Shifts & Hours of Work:
Casual/Back-up
7 - 10 hour evening shifts available
Start time to be discussed with employer
Must be available midday on weekdays for training
To be discussed further with the employer
Compensation:
$26.25 an hour for training
$27.00 an hour after training
Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):
Daily personal care such as showering, and dressing
Ceiling lift and sling lift transfers
Tracheostomy care, ventilation as the employer is on a ventilator 24/7, cough assist, G-tube feeding and medication administration
Use of manual chair
Light house keeping duties such as laundry
Required Qualifications:
Ventilator experience
Complex care experience
Non-smoking
Wearing a mask
Yearly Flu shot and Covid vaccines
First Aid Certificate
Caregiving experience
Prop course and training
Comfortable working in an environment with dogs
Preferred Qualifications:
Health Care Certificate
Valid Canadian Driver's license (Class 5, 7N, ect)
Experience with lifts (Ceiling lift and Sling)
