• You\xe2\x80\x99re a meticulous problem-solver, obsessing over the details of site construction and functionality to improve user experience and SEO.
• You hate inconsistency in finished pages and are constantly checking positioning, placement, and alignment across browsers and devices.
• You like controlling the whole widget, and are comfortable hand-coding complex sites without relying on publishing tools like Wordpress.
• You\xe2\x80\x99re self-motivated and proactive, with proven success working as part of a remote team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee public-facing corporate websites, managing periodic overhauls as well as ongoing updates
• Design and implement new functionality to enhance the user experience across all sites
• Implement and maintain interactive display ads
• Ensure site consistency across browsers and platforms
• Work with product owners and internal customers to design and build functionality
• Participate in code reviews, estimations, and deployment processes
• Assist with troubleshooting of production issues
• Develop test coverage
• Produce high quality technical documentation

Requirements

• 7+ years of front-end development, including recent experience directly writing HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript in a corporate capacity
• 3+ years experience with PHP or other server-side languages
• Proven experience deploying display ads through common platforms (html5, code snippet, etc.)
• Demonstrated ability to produce reliable, scalable, cross-browser implementations for multiple audience types
• Demonstrated ability to solve technical problems and bring visual designs to life
• Strong experience building responsive interfaces
• Experience optimizing for SEO
• Exposure to agile software delivery practices and workflows (Jira, Confluence, Gitflow)
• Must reside in Canada

Nice to Have

• Experience developing interactive or multimedia applications
• Experience developing multilingual applications or sites
• Experience working with creative assets in Photoshop, etc.
