Based in the Sherwood Park location, the Web Application Developer is responsible for the design and development of innovative solutions to convert business needs into functional and user-friendly web application software. We are currently in the process of converting our built in house applications into newer technologies using modern devops practices. We need motivated developers to learn from the existing systems and help us create a maintainable scalable application with a great user experience for our users across Canada. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Design user interface and web layouts using industry standards.
  • Write high quality, maintainable and secure source code..
  • Troubleshoot, test, and debug web applications.
  • Suggest new features to improve program navigation and operations.
  • Provide technical support and solutions.
  • Perform unit and integration testing.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, designer and other technical teams.
  • Maintain, expand, and scale web applications.
  • Participate in regular team and project status meetings.
  • Break down business requirements into consumable development tasks.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years of Web Development experience is required.
  • IT Certification/Diploma/Degree.
  • Experience using a source control system.
  • Experience with Perl is an asset.
  • Experience writing and optimizing SQL statements.
  • Experience with Node.js and other modern web Javascript application frameworks.
  • Knowledge of web development trends and technologies including CSS, HTML5.
  • Understanding of web API technologies and protocols including SOAP, REST, XML, JSON.
  • Prior experience integrating with a downstream CMS or ERP is an asset.
  • Fluent in English with proven skills in verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset.
