Department Overview

This role is responsible for leading a team of specialized Wealth Advisory Services and Wealth Insurance Services professionals, tasked with asset accumulation, preservation and growth, while delivering a differentiated high net worth planning experience.

Job Requirements

EMPLOYEE:

  • Lead a highly qualified and collaborative team of wealth management professionals, which includes High Net Worth Planners, Tax and Estate Planners, Business Success Advisors, Wealth Planning Specialists and Estate Planning Advisors.
  • Develop annual and long-term plans for the growth and success of the team and collaborate with the PWM leadership team and key stakeholders to influence the overall success of the business
  • Contribute to the development and execution of business segment and/or enterprise strategic priorities
  • Lead a high performing team; provide on-going feedback and performance reviews, coach and develop employees and ensure performance management activities are undertaken, and provide regular input into employee assessments and development plans
  • Grow team expertise to align with business/enterprise demand and direction; assess team skills and capabilities and continually look for ways to provide and enhance the value delivered
  • Lead the process of setting performance objectives for the team; track, monitor and effectively address and/or reward performance in a timely manner
  • Share knowledge, information, skills, and subject matter expertise among the team and ensure the timely communication of issues and encourage good working relationships with other functions and teams
  • Establish and foster a cohesive team; promote a fair and inclusive environment that supports a diverse workforce and encourage the team to achieve common goals and objectives
  • Support an environment where team freely escalates business challenges; facilitate change through positive reinforcement of milestones and successes
  • Recruit for all hires to ensure a highly diverse, qualified workforce to achieve business objectives
  • Lead employees in compliance with all human resources policies, procedures and guidelines of conduct
  • Act as a brand ambassador for the Wealth Advisory Services and Wealth Insurance Services business and the bank, both internally and/or externally
BREADTH & DEPTH:
  • Oversee and lead a large and highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity and scope while growing talent, developing skills and capabilities, supporting project / initiative strategic priorities and achieving business results
  • Provide coaching, mentorship and guidance to practitioners within the team
  • Strategic partner to the PWM leadership team on the execution of the Four Wealth Pillar value proposition, including promoting engagement and the execution of opportunities identified in wealth plans and recognizing emerging trends
  • Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience

Job Details

CLIENT:
  • Responsible for the delivery of a consistent and integrated wealth planning experience to high-net worth clients and prospects, as measured in part by PWM Leadership Dashboards, which focus on client experience, growth, profitability, productivity, risk and franchise metrics
  • Work with the PWM leadership team to ensure that all new clients receive an enhanced on-boarding experience, which includes a thorough client discovery process, the creation of a tailored Wealth Strategy and a differentiated HNW planning experience through early introductions to applicable PWM Partners
  • Develop a thorough understanding and relationship with the top clients in the market and be involved in supporting their personal family vision and financial Wealth Strategy
  • Consistently lead and facilitate sales meetings in the areas of wealth planning, business development, practice management and working with internal and external partners to support clients\' needs
SHAREHOLDER:
  • Work closely with key business leaders to develop business plan, ensuring the optimal use of resources and leveraging TD\'s operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
  • Execute on the annual business plan to deliver results aligned with business strategies
  • Plan and execute business development activities, review and communicate results, and adjust tactics accordingly
  • Take a leadership role in the market and community by coordinating and championing regional initiatives and gathering regular feedback to improve growth strategies
  • Proactively identify key business opportunities, develop strategies to achieve recommendations and work closely with team to implement ad execute
  • Manage overall budget, revenue and expenditures, meet business objectives while increasing efficiency and effectiveness
  • Protect the interests of the organization - identify and manage risks, and escalate non-standard, high-risk transactions/activities as necessary
  • Keep informed of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite
  • Ensure employees are knowledgeable; and assume responsibility to minimize operational and regulatory risk by complying with Bank and industry Code of Conduct

Additional Information

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • Undergraduate university degree
  • 10 years of Sales Leadership experience that includes leading diverse specialties, including wealth planning and/or insurance teams
  • Investment Management course, CIM or CFP is required
  • Wealth planning or insurance expertise is an asset
