The Private Banking Wealth Advisor (PBWA) represents the TD Wealth Management brand in the High Net Worth Segment. He or she partners with High Net Worth Individuals and Families to develop forward looking financial plans in the context of a comprehensive understanding of their life goals and risk tolerance. The PBWA is also responsible for ensuring regular reviews of strategy performance and updating the plan to reflect changing circumstances. Additionally, with the help of an associate, the PBWA will ensure a high touch response to the day to day banking needs of his or her clients.

Customer Experience & Community Involvement:
  • Ensure all NEW clients receive the complete on-boarding experience, which includes
    • A thorough client discovery leading to a truly Private Banking Planning Experience (Roadmap)
    • An introduction to the Wealth Partners
    • Completion of a Wealth Plan
  • Establish a proactive client contact plan that meets client expectations
  • Responsible for creating a comprehensive advice plan for HNW clients with complex needs and possesses the requisite skills to advise in niche areas where appropriate
  • Execute regular reviews of client financial strategies and performance. Reviews may lead to contact over and above that outlined in the client contact plan
  • Minimize processing errors; however, should they occur, ensure they are resolved in a timely and fair manner
  • Be a Trusted advisor for the portfolio, responsible for the coordination of the TD Wealth relationship in the centre
  • Represent PB and TDBG to the general public in a professional manner
  • Be involved in your community and support TDBG charity and community initiatives

Business Results & Operations:
  • Work with Wealth leader to build a robust sales plan that aligns to market and business strategies
  • Execute sales strategies to acquire new profitable clientele
  • Identify opportunities within the existing book of clients to refer to Wealth, Commercial and other parts of TDBFG to increase share of wallet
  • Retain existing clients through regular review of progress against client roadmap
  • Maximize profitability through a consistent of application of the Private Banking fees and pricing , while ensuring the client receives a legendary client experience
  • Protect the interests and reputation of TDBG and our clients through: Proactive and continuous compliance with industry regulations and TDBG/PB policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
    • Anti-Money Laundering
    • Credit Compliance
    • Product Policies
  • Active participation in all required training sessions
  • Integration of compliance activities into normal client interactions
  • Ongoing awareness and understanding of Private Banking / TDBG policies and procedures

Development & Teamwork:
  • Develop and execute on a robust Personal Development Plan
  • Contribute to centre leadership by acting as a mentor to Senior Private Bankers, Private Banking Associates and Private Client Service Associates
  • Work collaboratively with partners to achieve mutual goals
  • Responsible for fostering and contributing to a positive and constructive work environment with a focus on supporting the PB and PCS team
  • Ongoing personal commitment to self development staying abreast of appropriate industry and advice knowledge and accreditation where appropriate

Job Requirements
  • Background in Wealth Management with an ability to prospect new clients while managing existing client portfolios
  • Strong product knowledge across all asset classes
  • Proven background in structuring complex/customized credit solutions
  • Demonstrated track record in relationship/consultative sales
  • Strong personal credibility and ability to establish personal relationships quickly
  • Confidence when dealing with sophisticated clients and complex investment portfolios
  • Conscientious individual with a high level of attention to detail
  • Passionate about creating legendary client experiences at every opportunity
  • Solid client relationship and negotiation skills
  • Ability to uncover needs that are not articulated or clearly expressed by the client
  • Strategic use of leverage as part of a financial plan
  • Co-ordination of the appropriate product specialists to develop tailored, long-term plans for clients
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Completion of the PFP or CFP designation (CFP preferred)
  • Completion of the Chartered Strategic Wealth Professional (CSWP) designation
  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC)
  • Professional Designations such as MBA, CA, LLB, CFA etc. are desirable, however are not required
