Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and driving a water truck for pipeline support or the building of ice roads in Conklin/Lac La Biche/Bonnyville Alberta area. This includes driving to and from work sites, performing pre and post trip inspections and performing roadside repairs.

Key responsibilities:

Proper spreading of water to build ice roads

Filling Hydrovac and drills with water

Filling out all paperwork - eg.) Temporary Diversion License (TDL) checklist, tracking & recording each load, ensure TDL is posted at point of diversion and a copy in water truck

Safely operate the truck on muskeg

Proficient ability to winterize hoses

Keeping water truck clean both inside and out

Attend safety meetings and writing hazard assessments

Routine greasing

Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment

Solid decision-making and leadership skills

Knowledge of machinery, including pumps

High degree of Safety Awareness and commitment to personal safety, and to the safety of others

Capable of working in a multi-skilled work environment

Ability to troubleshoot problems independently

Follow all Driven Resources and Client's safe work practices & procedures

Must be prepared to work at assigned locations as the workload dictates

Demonstrated mechanical ability

Must be willing to learn, and take direction from others

Complete mandatory site specific training

Qualifications & skills:

4+ years experience in Oil & Gas construction industry

2+ year experience making ice roads with water truck

Must have extensive experience operating in muskeg

- Thorough understanding of pump systems & winterizing

- Solid decision making skills

- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently

- Must be prepared to work at assigned locations as the workload dictates

- Demonstrated mechanical ability

- Must be receptive to working with short notice for call outs and overtime as per customer requests

Required Tickets

First aid, H2S Alive, TDG, WHMIS 2015, PCST (Pipeline Construction Safety Training), Ground Disturbance Level 2

- Minimum Valid Class 5 Driver's License w/ Air-brakes.

Clean drivers abstract

PPE Required:

Fire Retardant coveralls & winter gear, hard hat, safety glasses, CSA approved steel toe boots/steel toe metatarsal rubber boots, and appropriate gloves.

- Required to pass pre-employment screening for drug and alcohol testing
