As a Water Truck Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a water truck to apply water to designated areas for freeze-down work, ensuring that access roads, ice roads, and pathways are built, maintained, and remain safe and accessible. You will collaborate closely with site supervisors to monitor weather conditions, adjust water application as needed, and ensure all safety protocols are followed.
Responsibilities
Safely operate the water truck to transport and distribute water across specified routes and areas for freeze down work
Adjust water flow and spraying systems to ensure even distribution for surface stabilization, preventing ice buildup, and ensuring access to construction sites and roads
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of the water truck and related equipment to ensure proper functionality
Ensure the site remains clean and clear of any obstructions that may interfere with water truck operations, such as debris or ice accumulation
Install tire chains when required to ensure safe vehicle operation
Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to determine the areas needing freeze down and to prioritize water distribution based on project requirements and weather conditions
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while operating the water truck
Follow directions that are spoken or delivered by hand signals of ground crew members.
Be prepared for and willing to perform additional duties when required
Requirements
Minimum 3 years of experience operating a water truck
Valid Class 3 driver's license with a clean driver's abstract
Capability to install tire chains when necessary.
Must be fit-for-duty
Willing to stay in camp accommodation as required
Able to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
Must be immediately eligible/able to work in Canada
Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test including cannabis
