Drinking Water System Operator - Limited Subsystem (Surface Water)
to join our team. The successful candidate will manage the operation of various limited surface water subsystem, ensuring water quality and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude and sound judgment in a focused operational context.
Responsibilities
Monitor and control water treatment processes to ensure optimal performance.
Conduct regular inspections of treatment facilities and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Operate heavy equipment as needed for water treatment operations.
Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Document operational data and prepare reports on water quality and treatment processes.
Assist in training new staff on operational procedures and safety practices.
Desired Skills & Attributes
Valid
Drinking Water Operator Certificate (Limited Surface Water Subsystem)
, or
OIT
status with progression to certification.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles--particularly pumps, valves, and UV or chemical feed systems.
Familiarity with plumbing, small-scale repairs, and water treatment equipment installations.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50lbs and performing routine on-site inspections safely.
Proficiency with recordkeeping tools, including electronic logging, and preparing clear operational documentation.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
