Job Description

A major oil and gas company is looking for a Water Operator to join their team in the Fort St John area. This is a camp position on 14/14 schedule. The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and monitoring of various water systems, including produced ponds, fresh ponds, fresh dams, water riser sites, and the pipeline network in your designated area. Additionally, you will play a vital role in preparing necessary documentation, such as Safe Work Permits and Hazard assessments, as well as completing logs, checklists, and data entry accurately to facilitate the exchange of information during shift changes. You will also be responsible for the isolation of hazardous energy, which includes tasks such as LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and blinding.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

• Monitor SCADA for alarms and respond promptly and appropriately
• Manage routine activities of maintenance crews, ensuring tasks are completed on time and in accordance with established procedures
• Advise Lead Water Operators of any anomalies within the various systems
• Collaborate with lead Water Operators, take direction and assist in various projects to support overall operational objectives
• Handle the loading, unloading, and storage of production fluid and waste products
• Ensure accurate records by completing daily checks, logs, and data entry

WHAT YOU BRING:

• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and unsupervised
• Experience in SCADA equipment usage, alarm monitoring, and response
• Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, PI Vision and Microsoft TEAMS
• Self-motivated and proactive in taking initiative to address challenges
• Must have First Aid, H2S Alive, TDG and WHIMIS training
• Possession of a valid class 5 driver\'s license with a clean abstract
• Able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol test
