RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
Operate and monitor equipment and processes involved in wastewater treatment, including pumps, valves, blowers, filters, and chemical treatment systems.
Adjust operational parameters based on readings from instruments and laboratory tests to ensure effective and efficient treatment.
Monitor and control the flow of wastewater through the treatment process to
Meet regulatory requirements and maintain proper treatment standards.
Operates and maintains Wastewater Treatment plants and provides services for incoming waste;
Collect samples of wastewater, sludge and treated effluent for laboratory analysis at C75 and S75 WWTP.
Collect samples of potable water for laboratory analysis at NSL, conduct basic laboratory tests to monitor the effectiveness of the treatment process and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Interpret test results and adjust treatment process as necessary.
Troubleshoots and corrects process issues and mechanical failures;
Completes and submits all associated paperwork, as required, for regulatory and safety record keeping requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
Wastewater Treatment Level II Certification is required, level II preferred.
MBR experience would be preferred
Previous experience performing mechanical repairs on valves, pumps, is an asset;
Previous forklift, skid steer and truck experience considered an asset;
Previous experience in plumbing and the repair of pumps;
Previous experience working in a remote camp would be an asset;
Ability to work in all-weather elements;
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a team and safety focused environment.
Safety tickets such as First-Aid, Confined Space Entry, H2S Alive, and Fall Arrest is an asset;
