Position Overview

The Washbay Labourer is responsible for cleaning fleet vehicles using a pressure washer and maintaining the fleet by removing dried concrete and assisting mechanics. Key duties include general site cleanup, supporting the fleet team, and adhering to safety policies. Candidates should have a valid driver's license, previous labor experience, and the ability to lift 50 lbs, with safety certifications being an asset. Dependability, attention to detail, and a safety-conscious mindset are essential attributes.



Responsibilities



Assisting the parts department in making parts pickups and deliveries. Use of pressure wash to clean company fleet vehicles. Use of jackhammer to chip/remove dried concrete. General manual labour to support mechanics and fleet team members. Maintain a clean and safe working area. General site clean up including shoveling, sweeping, transporting/relocating equipment, etc. Participate in all safety policies and procedures including attending safety meetings, assessing and identifying hazards, maintaining a safe work environment, etc. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Valid class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract. Previous labourer experience, preferably working in a manufacturing, production, or construction environment. CSTS certification is an asset. WHMIS training is an asset. First aid training is an asset. The ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted.

Hours of Work

Working 40 hours per week Tuesday to Saturday, this position works a shift rotation. One week of mornings, 7AM t0 3:30PM, followed by one week of afternoons 12PM to 8:30PM.

Work Environment

An outdoor and indoor environment, working conditions will be subject to weather conditions. When working indoors, work will primarily be completed in a shop environment working along side mechanics as mixer trucks are repaired. This position is physical in nature and requires bending, crawling, crouching, and standing for long periods of time.
