What We're Looking For:
We are currently seeking a Wash Bay Specialist Level 1. Under the guidance of our Wash Bay Supervisor or Wash Bay Specialist Level 3 (acting Supervisor), you'll play an essential role in maintaining cleanliness across various areas, including the interior of buses, the wash bay, administrative spaces, and outdoor areas. Shifts for this position typically start at 6:00PM and end between approximately 1:30-2:30am. This position requires flexibility with days of work.
This position is a great starting point at Roam. Those who are committed, reliable, and show good work ethic may get the opportunity to grow with Roam and receive training to upgrade their license (Class 1,2 or 3) to start operating buses in the wash bay, become a transit operator or move into other positions.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all Roam buses, and general upkeep of the entire indoor storage area, wash bay, and garage floors.
Sweeping and mopping of all busses.
Sanitizing of buses using medical grade fogging machines.
Ensuring all high touch areas are sanitized.
Assist with washing all bus windows.
Manage the removal of all garbage from busses.
Assist with emptying of fareboxes from busses into secure storage facility (no direct handling of cash required).
Maintain communication with the Wash Bay Supervisor to ensure all tasks are completed according to priority.
Ensure all work is being completed in adherence to safety protocols and standards.
Additional duties as required by Wash Bay Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Education Requirement:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Experience:
Cleaning experience preferred, but not required.
Working in a physically demanding job requiring some moderate lifting, bending, reaching, kneeling etc.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
High attention to detail and quality.
Knowledge of key safety principles relating to cleaning and working around large machinery .
Ability to work within a team environment.
Ability to work independently or under minimal supervision.
Ability to safely lift and maneuver heavy items up to 50lbs (infrequently).
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Other Requirements/Conditions:
Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
Must have a phone with the ability to use various apps.
Must be legally able to work in Canada (proof will be required).
Must pass police security clearance (proof will be required).
What we offer:
A competitive wage of $22.00/Hour
Paid vacation, starting at 3 weeks per year (paid on an accrual basis)
